#22c: THE LIBRARY - written by Anne Collins; Directed by John Hancock
___
A woman gets a job at a strange library which turns out to be really strange - each of the books actually writes the story of a person's life. This 'library' is evidently the locus for the destinies of all human beings. An intriguing if too fanciful idea - then the new employee gets the idea to write up her own passages in select books to change the lives of those around her. Her boss (Uta Hagen of The Other-1972 in a rare TV role) eventually straightens her out. Sheesh - talk about irresponsible; shouldn't she have been sent to hell or something? I found the lead actress (Frances Conroy) to be extra annoying. Also with Lori Petty (A League of Their Own-1992) in an early role. BoG's Score: 6 out of 10
