An end-of-the-world scenario which seemed to be popular at the time (as evidenced by films like The Day the Earth Caught Fire that same year): the Earth's orbit has changed so that it steadily moves closer to the sun. The temperature has been rising; the episode focuses on two women (Lois Nettleton and Betty Garde), the last remaining occupants of an apartment building. Everyone else has departed to better climates (the logical question, though, is where is there to go?).  There's not much more one can expect of a story such as this except that it just gets hotter and the characters sweat a lot; yet, it's compelling storytelling, as with many doomsday scenarios, with a somewhat expected TZ twist at the end. This one also has an unusual music score, purposely ominous and even grating in a way. BoG's Score: 7 out of 10
